"These deeply spiritual and mysterious exercises contain the seeds of real internal power. In Zhan Zhuang Chi Kung one learns to return to the source of all power, to enter back into the very womb of universal energy and to experience the truth of the power of the void, the still point, the wuji". -- Internal Arts Journal |
My first experience with Ling Kong Jing started unintentionally during my normal standing Qi-healing session with my clients years ago. I noticed that my clients appeared to move backwards whenever I raised my hands to do Qi-healing without physical contact. These unusual phenomenon which occured frequently started my inquiry and research on Ling Kong Jing, the empty force, for energy healing and self-defense. My theoretical premise was that if Qi can be used for Qi-healing, then it can also be used for self-defense. Twelve years ago, I had no knowledge of Ling Kong Jing before that time which was as mysterious as Qi-healing itself, I became a motivated daily Zhan Zhuang Qigong practitioner when I read and viewed Paul Dong's book "Empty Force" and his student Sifu Rich Mooney's book "Ling Kong Jing". Practicing the standing like a tree meditation, Zhan Zhuang Qigong, as taught by Sifu Rich Mooney made a big difference in my progress in using Qi for energy healing and most of all, for self-defense. My previous knowledge and training in Qi-healing with the sitting and standing non-moving and moving Qigong and meditation practices (see Workshops) have assisted greatly my standing meditation postures in developing strong, smooth-flowing Qi channels, and strengthening and expanding my auric electromagnetic field (EMF) which I believe make the use of the empty force for energy healing and self-defense possible. The introduction of Zhan Zhuang Qigong practice and its healing benefits also made me interested in doing a thorough research on the Guru Yoga of Tibetan Buddhism and studied Qi Dao (Tibetan Shamanic Qigong) taught by Lama Tantrapa (2009) after I watched Buddhist Master Dondrup Dorje (aka Leung Fong or Dr. Yeung) do several excellent demonstrations on Ling Kong Jing with lectures on Buddhist related topics such as Buddha nature, compassion and emptiness, void power, energy bubble, empty force and classical Qigong at How to build your Soul Lightbody. All the research and personal healing and enlightenment - realization of Buddha Nature and Buddha Palm (Awakened Touch) - experiences from the practice of Guru Yoga of Tibetan Buddhism with Zhan Zhuang Qigong and the other Qigong forms such as Qi Dao, Wuji Qigong, Maitreya Shen Gong, Pan Gu Mystical Qigong, Sheng Zhen Qigong (Hanuman Qigong) with Eight Extraordinary Meridians Qigong and Merkaba lightbody activation were culminated and summarized in the "Oneness with Shiva" book. Buddha Palm Method of a Qigong Master An important benefit that Zhan Zhuang Qigong - the basic foundational Qigong practice - provides is the prevention of post-kundalini syndromes such as spaciness in the head, psychosis, headaches or heart discomforts that are the after-effects and result of being unconnected to the Earth (i.e. ungrounded), and qi congestion in the meridians and acupoints (see Two solutions to treat Kundalini Syndromes). As a safety factor especially to meditators accessing "Tian Qi" or divine energy for spiritual oneness, one needs to connect to the Earth's "Di Qi". By grounding yourself through Zhan Zhuang Qigong with other Buddha Palm Qigong forms in the Buddha Palm Method, and doing meditation or Buddha Palm Qi emission for healing self or others, you benefit everyone, including yourself. The only catch to experience the ever expanding benefits of Zhan Zhuang Qigong developed by Great Grand Master Wang Xiang Zhai is to practice this standing meditation Qigong religiously, correctly and persistently because this ancient Qigong form with a lineage of masters that stretches over 27 centuries aligns the body's EMF (Wei Qi) with the Earth's EMF and enables the body to root down, and increase our ability to induct and conduct this EM force. The longer, and the more you train, the stronger your electromagnetic field (EMF) gets. This is essentially, I believe, how Lin Kong Jing, the empty force, manifests when called on for healing or self-defense. Additionally, the "void power" or "empty force" becomes more potent and enhanced when the Zhan Zhuang Qigong practitioner's mind is aligned or centered with his authentic Self through the practice of Toltec wisdom and Merkaba lightbody activation.

Footnotes: Ling Kong Jing, or Powerful Empty Force: A standing meditation Buddhist method of the Hsing-I school of internal martial arts made famous by Wang Xiang Zhai. The style of Qigong called Ling Kong Jing, or "empty force," has several applications. Among these are health promotion, fitness, increased longevity, and emission of Qi for healing or for martial arts purposes. Standing Like a Tree is based on fundamental principles of Chinese medicine - the oldest continuous medical tradition in the world. The aim is to regulate the flow of vital energy by helping your whole system to relax while, at the same time, strengthening the ability of your body and mind to withstand stress. Research in China into its effects has shown increased blood circulation, greater breath capacity, enhanced muscle tone and strengthened immunity. References:

The following videos by Lama Dondrup Dorje demonstrate the use of Qigong to develop your Energy Bubble, Electromagnetic Field (EMF), Wei Qi or Soul Lightbody by rooting down to earth's EMF when intented for self-defense, healing and enlightenment. As an integral system of Oriental medicine, Qigong is based on the coherence of human energy fields within the universal flow of Qi, or life force from heaven and earth accompanied with the blissful expanded sense of oneness and physical, mental, emotional and spiritual equanimity. The practice of Zhan Zhuang Qigong aligns the body's EMF with the Earth's EMF and enables the body to root down, and increase our ability to induct and conduct this EM force. The longer, and the more you train, the stronger your electromagnetic field (EMF) gets. This is essentially how Lin Kong Jing, the empty force, manifests when called on for healing or self-defense. The practice of Tao Healing Hands, Sheng Zhen Wuji Yuan Gong (or Wuji Qigong) aligns the body's EMF with the Earth's EMF and heaven's Tian Qi, spiritual divine energy, purifying the physical body, calming the emotional body, and opening the heart/ elevating the Spirit together with building the Three Treasures - Jing, Qi and Shen - developing the Energy Bubble (Lightbody) leading to whole body enlightenment, as opposed to head enlightenment taught by other popular yoga schools that cause negative after-effects of post kundalini syndromes. The practice of Earth Qigong, illustrated in the Earth Qigong Logo, as an important component of the Enlightenment Qigong forms, accesses the Earth's "Di Qi" and energy body to develop and expand your energy body's connection with the Cosmic Christ (Buddhic) consciousness grid - the unified field of the planet's energy body and its consciousness together with universal consciousness. This is based on the principle of interconnectedness or oneness which states that we are interconnected with the whole cosmos (earth, sun, moon, solar system, stars) or universe and each other. The practice of Heaven Qigong, illustrated in the Heaven Qigong picture, as another important component of the Enlightenment Qigong forms, replenishes the heaven's "Tian Qi" or spiritual divine energy to develop strong internal Qi, especially when fused with the Earth's "Di Qi" derived from Earth Qigong practice. Healing and enlightenment are made possible through the awakening of the kundalini by opening and activation of the 5 energy gateways - crown of the head, palms of the hands, and soles of the feet - by the combined practice of Heaven and Earth Qigong in the ancient heart opening lineage Enlightenment Qigong Forms. According to Chinese Medical Qigong Therapy, "Qigong is a powerful system of healing and energy medicine from China. Qi means "Life-force energy" and gong means "skill," so Qigong (pronounced Chigong) is the skillful practice of gathering, circulating, and applying life-force energy. It uses breathing techniques, gentle movement, and meditation to cleanse, strengthen, and circulate the life energy or Qi and leads to better health and vitality and a tranquil state of mind. The primary goal is to purge toxic emotions from within the body's tissues, eliminate energetic stagnations, as well as strengthen and balance the internal organs and energetic fields. All living bodies generate an external field of energy called Wei Qi (pronounced "whey chee"), which translates as "protective energy." The definition of Wei Qi in Medical Qigong is slightly different than that of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In classical TCM texts, the Wei Qi field is seen to be limited to the surface of the body, circulating within the tendon and muscle tissues. In Medical Qigong, however, the Wei Qi field also includes the three external layers of the body's auric and subtle energy fields. This energy originates from each of the internal organs and radiates through the external tissues. There the Wei Qi forms an energy field that radiates from the entire physical body. This field of Qi protects the body from the invasion of external pathogens and communicates with, as well as interacts with, the surrounding universal and environmental energy fields. Both internal and external pathogenic factors affect the structural formation of the Wei Qi. The internal factors include suppressed emotional influences (such as anger and grief from emotional traumas). The external factors include environmental influences when they are too severe or chronic, such as Cold, Damp, Heat or Wind, etc. Physical traumas also affect the Wei Qi field. Any negative interchange affects the Wei Qi by literally creating holes within the matrix of the individual's external energetic fields. When left unattended, these holes leave the body vulnerable to penetration, and disease begins to take root in the body. Strong emotions, in the form of toxic energy, become trapped within the body's tissues when we hold back or do not integrate our feelings. These unprocessed emotions block the natural flow of Qi, thus creating stagnant pools of toxic energy within the body. The body has an energy field that is composed of energetic lines called meridians and channels. Energetic blockages in these channels cause imbalances in the energy field, which can lead to dis-ease. A free flow of energy is needed in the body and energy system for good health and well-being. Medical Qigong consists of specific techniques that uses the knowledge of the body's internal and external energy fields to purge, tonify, and balance these energies. Medical Qigong therapy offers patients a safe and effective way to rid themselves of toxic pathogens and years of painful emotions that otherwise, can cause mental and physical illness. This therapy combines breathing techniques with movement, creative visualization, mantras, Tao Calligraphy, and spiritual intent to improve health, personal power, and control over one's own life." Through the practice of Enlightenment Qigong forms such as Tao Healing Hands, Pan Gu Shengong, Primordial Wuji Qigong, Sheng Zhen Qigong, Rainbow Bridge Meditation and Maitreya sitting Qigong together with Tibetan Shamanic Qigong, the body and mind become very calm. This state of peace allows the heart to open to its natural state of unconditional love. The unconditional love (Sheng Zhen) of the universe floods into and out of the heart of the practitioner, producing a state of wholeness, of oneness with All. When one arrives at this altered Qigong state, there is a sense of merging with everything everywhere. The practitioner returns to his natural state, a state of perfect well-being.

The Heart of Prajna Paramita Sutra When Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva was practicing the profound prajna paramita, he illuminated the five skandhas and saw that they are all empty, and he crossed beyond all suffering and difficulty. Shariputra, form does not differ from emptiness; emptiness does not differ from form. Form itself is emptiness; emptiness itself is form. So, too, are feeling, cognition, formation, and consciousness. Shariputra, all dharmas are empty of characteristics. They are not produced. Not destroyed, not defiled, not pure, and they neither increase or diminish. Therefore, in emptiness there is no form, feeling, cognition, formation, or consciousness; no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, or mind; no sights, sounds, smells, tastes, objects of touch, or dharmas; no field of the eyes, up to and including no field of mind-consciousness; and no ignorance or ending of ignorance, up to and including no old age and death or ending of old age and death. There is no suffering, no accumulating, no extinction, no way, and no understanding and no attaining. Because nothing is attained, the Bodhisattva, through reliance on prajna paramita, is unimpeded in his mind. Because there is no impediment, he is not afraid, and he leaves distorted dream-thinking far behind. Ultimately Nirvana! All Buddhas of the three periods of time attain Anuttarasamyaksambodhi through reliance on prajna paramita. Therefore, know that prajna paramita is a great spiritual mantra, a great bright mantra, a supreme mantra, an unequalled mantra. It can remove all suffering; it is genuine and not false. That is why the mantra of prajna paramita was spoken. Recite it like this: [OM] GATE GATE PARAGATE PARASAMGATE BODHI SVAHA !(3X)
